We are excited to announce a new addition to the Castle Learning Online experience!
The New Item Analysis Report for Teachers
This function will allow you to see lots of useful information on class progression all in one report.
What it Does
Teachers can now quickly and effortlessly mine data based on various assignments and assessments to determine how students did by overall score, individual questions, and standards. Teachers can also gather data through comparisons between all classes and assignments.
The Item Analysis Report lives on your Castle Learning Teacher Center under the Reports Page. You can choose one or all of your classes when generating reports on assignments.
How it Works
After choosing a primary assignment on which to run a report, you can easily change the mastery score depending on your goals. You can then choose up to five additional assignments so you can compare and see trends in your students’ scores and achievements, and quickly determine where they need extra help.
Once you’ve set up the assignments, you want to create a report. Simply click on Run Report, and you will be given easy-to-follow information. The display is great for you as the teacher to see how individual students are doing, as well as the entire class. Statistics for specific questions or students are highlighted for your convenience.
Why it’s Important
The value of being able to directly see which of the standards or question types are challenging your students is unmatched. If a particular standard is showing a high percentage of students struggling, it will pave the way for you to create additional lessons and practice to help those students raise their overall score on future assessments. The question statistics can show what percentage of your students answered it correctly. Again, this allows a teacher to pinpoint what material may need further review and in-class instruction.
The statistics you gain from the Item Analysis Report can even assist you in conferences with students and their parents. The numbers don’t lie. Teachers can show parents how their student’s score ranks amongst the rest of the class. This is in thanks to a color-coded system that shows scores that are below mastery, at risk of being below mastery, above mastery, or at the top of the class.
Administrators will be thankful for the shareability of information, as teachers can export to an Excel document. This allows for transparency between teachers and administrators, which promotes a better understanding on how students are trending in their mastery of all standards and expectations.
The Item Analysis Report is here to save time and create accurate assessments of a teacher’s own progress with his or her students. Teachers can improve their lessons thanks to the knowledge gained from the statistics. Try it today and start seeing improved results across all your classes and students.
