Help for the Global History & Geography Regents Exam
We have great news for New York social studies teachers who are preparing students for the new Global History & Geography Regents exam, as well as teachers in other states who are building critical thinking skills for the 21st century student!
The June 2019 Transition Regents is Here!
The June 2019 New York State Regents Transition Exam in Global History & Geography is now available! You can search for individual questions by level and topic. Alternatively, you can use our ready-to-go pre-made assignments (choose just the multiple choice or the full exam with help on the essays), which can be found in Castle Learning’s Public Assignments section.
Updates and Changes
The social studies team has spent the summer creating new content and reorganizing our pre-made assignments to help prepare students and teachers for the new exams. All the NYS Global History & Geography public assignments have been updated, and are now organized and listed by standard. We made this change to help you find pre-made assignments you can use while teaching each standard all year.
Skip the search and save time because we have already done it for you!
In Global History & Geography, there are three types of public assignments for each standard (and many drill down to individual parts of the standard): basic content-based questions, stimulus-based questions, and enduring issue/theme based questions. You can use our pre-made assignments to help students practice each of these skills, or create your own assignments by merging ours!
Two Options for Using Public Assignments
- Teachers can choose individual questions from these assignments by creating a new assignment, choosing Castle Questions, and clicking the Public Assignments
Be sure to choose the correct course name! Scroll through the assignments to find the NYS standard you’re looking for, then click the blue plus sign to add questions to your assignment.
- Teachers can grab the full public assignment by choosing to create from public assignments, and clicking in the course: Social Studies –>Global History and Geography –> Castle Assignments –> New York as shown below:
Click on the checkbox(es) of the assignment(s) you want and then the “Import” button. The exam will now appear on your Global History and Geography assignment list!
Global History & Geography Sampler Exams Available Too!
We also have created sample assessments to help prepare students for the transition exam and new exam. In the public assignments list, look for two “New Global History & Geography II Regents 2019 – Samplers” and three “Transition Samplers – Global History & Geography Regents.”
