New social studies questions with a focus on United States History are now available in our middle school levels (G, H and I). Topics include the Black Codes, Jim Crow Laws, the Seneca Falls Convention, the Compromise of 1850, and the Boom to Bust of the 1920s/30s. All questions include at least one reading selection from our partner Cobblestone & Cricket Media, an award winning producer of 15 magazines. The Castle Learning Social Studies Content Team is excited to showcase these articles along with our original questions, which will give students meaningful learning experiences and the opportunity to practice critical thinking skills. All questions are aligned with the Common Core Literacy Standards in History/Social Studies.
These questions are based on four articles from CALIFORNIA CHRONICLES magazine: “Black Codes and Jim Crow,” “The Mother of All Conventions,” “Crafting the Compromise,” and “From Dreams to Dust: America between the World Wars.” Question types include multiple choice, constructed response and “check all that apply” options.
