The Math Content Team has released new questions that are aligned to the Common Core standard 8.G.5. The question types in this release are multiple choice questions.
- 8.G.5 – Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles.
Sample tasks that students are asked to complete:
- Find the measure of an angle when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal.
- Use the Exterior Angle Theorem to find the measure of a remote interior angle.
