The key characteristics of the vertebrate classification is that these animals have a spinal cord protected by a backbone. Vertebrates also have muscles and a skeleton, which allows for complex movement patterns. Vertebrates are intelligent and have a lot of natural environments available in which to live. The major characteristic of invertebrates is the lack of a backbone. Invertebrates are multicellular and most are made of tissue. They are able to move, but not make their own food.

There are 40-65 primary school level questions, 330-355 elementary school level questions, 40-65 middle school level questions, and 15-40 high school questions about Animal Studies in Castle Learning.
